Day 1 – October 7th - Arrival

Our staff will pick you up in Il Pìcciolo hotel – Fiumefreddo. Hotel accommodation. What about having a very short ride just to check your bikes?

Day 2 – October 8th – Taormina 63 km, 1.100 m

Taormina is one of the most fascinating places in Eastern Sicily. From Corso Umberto I we will reach the Duomo, the suggestive panoramic terrace overlooking the sea of Piazza IX Aprile, the center of social life, and the famous Greek Theater. Here we will take some of the best photos of Sicily! And then, after a short descent, we will reach Isola Bella, the nature reserve praised by Goethe, Byron and Dillon.

Day 3 – October 9th - Mount Etna 45 km, 1300 m

Today we will face a challenge. The Citelli Refuge, scene of the final stages of the Giro d'Italia, is a long climb through ancient lava flows and craters in an astounding scenario. We will be in a fascinating territory that joins the Mediterranean Sea to 3,000 meters above sea level in a few kilometers. In the afternoon you will be free to use the hotel's wellness center facilities to relax.

Day 4 – October 10th – Transfer to Noto and recovery day. Street food in Catania

We will experience Sicily in the streets of one of its typical cities, and the bicycle will remain at rest… Do you want to try the arancini, the ricotta cannolo, the cassatella, the almond paste and the Sicilian granita? Get ready for a walking tour of the city that will offer an overview of the narrow streets and squares of the historic center, tasting some of the best culinary delicacies of Catania. Accomodation in your Noto hotel.

Day 5 – October 11th - Noto loop to Syracuse 72.3 km, 420 m

Syracuse is a very important historical center and now also a substantial modern town to the south-east of Sicily. It has an almost unbroken history that stretches back 2500 years, with artefacts to be seen in the town from each historical era. The town is now one of the most visited on Sicily, and because of its monuments and historical importance Syracuse is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. And what about a stop in a winery to taste Nero D’Avola famous Sicilian red wine?

Day 6 – October 12th – Isola di Capo Passero loop from Noto 74.2 km, 510 m

Inside Reserve Vendicari an entire ecosystem lives undisturbed. You will find yourself frequently in front of breath-taking landscapes, dense vegetation that suddenly opens to a clear sea, very long and golden beaches, that in a few hundred meters become rocky cliffs and then deep sea. From the observation cabins, you can admire Flamingos, Herons, and Storks that hang here before reaching the definitive migratory destinations. Portopalo di Capo Passero is a pretty town in the province of Syracuse which is located at the meeting point between the Ionian Sea and the Mediterranean.

Day 7 – October 13th – Modica loop from Noto 70 km, 1.000 m

Modica is located in south-eastern Sicily, about 20 km from Ragusa. A splendid baroque-style town, it is known as the "city of chocolate". The town is located at the foot of a rocky ridge, and is divided into Modica Alta and Modica Bassa. Don’t forget to try the delicious and ancient Modica chocolate, which originated thanks to the importation by the Spaniards. You can find it classic or in numerous variations, from cinnamon to chilli pepper, from Nero d'Avola wine to Pistacchio.
